DIY DIVAS Career Workshop
During 2012 the DIY Divas hosted two Career Workshops, the first of which was a great success, and the second still in progress upon writing this article.
The idea behind the Career Workshop is to pass on tips, tricks and techniques on various DIY topics, including furniture design, assembly and finishing, with the outcome that anyone attending the workshop could look at the possibility of starting their own manufacturing business.
Those attending the workshops learn to use a variety of power tools, from the basic drill/driver up to a mitre saw.
Various projects are made during the Career Workshop including, picture frames, upholstered ottoman and upholstered headboard.
Topics covered include basic upholstery, furniture design, hardware and accessories, as well as an introduction and 'hands-on' with various power tools.
